Food Assistance

Senior Commodities

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a federal program that works to improve the health of low-income seniors by supplementing diets with nutritious USDA food. For many seniors in our community, improper diet may lead to major health concerns. Malnutrition contributes to a weakened immune system, loss of bone mass and muscle weakness (which contributes to falls and fractures), and a slower response to wound healing.

Stop by Today for Your Application & Food Box!

Each supplemental food box contains milk, cheese, juice, canned fruit and vegetables, canned meat and plant-based proteins, starches, cereals, etc... You may pick up a box once each month, in addition to using our Client Choice food room. There is no charge to participate.

    Tiffany and her baby

    "

Before I had Emma, I worked three part-time jobs. As a new mom, I am shocked to find out how much babies cost. I am so glad that I came to Family Service because they helped me get a better job by paying for my CNA classes and now I work full-time. My grandma helps me with Emma when I am working, but even with that, I don’t make enough money so I get food help at Family Service and right before Emma was born, they gave me a layette. Thank you!
