Volunteers play a very important role in fulfilling our mission to prevent hunger, homelessness, and poverty in Yellowstone County and surrounding areas through community involvement.
Normal volunteer hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The schedule for seasonal projects may differ.
The minimum age for volunteering is 14, unless approved in advance by the Executive Director.

I served in the Army during Vietnam. I came home and lived my life. As I got older, my injuries caused some big problems in my health. My veteran office suggested that I get food at Family Service because I was not eating good. So, Family Service helps me get a great variety of food, especially vegetables and fruit, encouraging me to take more care of myself. I am so glad to have help with my disabilities. Thank you, Family Service.
