One in six families in Yellowstone County struggles with poverty.

Family Service helps families, seniors and individuals meet their basic needs. In partnership with generous community partners, last year, the following services were provided:

  • Food – Approximately 4.5 million pounds distributed to over 31,000 households
  • FoodSenior Commodity Food program for Yellowstone County – If you are 60+ with less than $1,473 monthly income for one person, this program is for you. Come into Family Service for enrollment  or call 406-384-0055
  • Rent & Utilities – More than 270 families received assistance to stay in their homes or keep utilities on
  • Clothing – More than 300,000 items provided at low-to-no cost
  • Education – Funding for education to improve employment opportunities
  • Thrift Shop – Gently-used household items and clothing at a fraction of the price
  • Special Projects – Back-to-School Backpacks, Holiday Meals, Birthday Books, and others
