The Development staff work to help bring awareness about the services and on-going efforts that Family Service does within the community. The Development staff is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all fundraising efforts, including the major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, program funding and development, community outreach and special events.
Charam Orth is the Director of Development for Family Service. Charam is a graduate of Regis University, where she received her MNM in Nonprofit Management. Charam is a certified Life Coach and Conflict Dynamic Coach with a focus in office meditation and conflict resolution.
Charam has worked for a number of different nonprofits working in a variety of roles ranging with offender and family violence programs, autism early childhood intervention, child protection services and human resources.
Over the years, Charam’s drive and passion for working with people has continually led her back to the nonprofit sector. Her enjoyment and experience in event planning and fundraising opened up the opportunity to collaborate with Family Service and join their team as the new Development Director.

Karla Stricker is the Development Coordinator for Family Service. Karla’s first passion and education background is in the Culinary Arts, and she has managed many restaurants over her culinary career.
In 2004, Karla’s focus changed and she started a career in the Healthcare Industry at EBMS and was with the company for 14 years, working in various positions from Eligibility Specialist, Quality Assurance, Internal Audit, and Billing Finance Specialist. Karla specializes in time management and multitasking efforts.
Karla is active in the Billings area as a part of the NOVA Center for Performing Arts as a local opera/vocal performer on the stage of Albert Bair Theatre and NOVA. Karla also currently serves on the Board of Directors for NOVA.
